How we run our club

CSA 07 FC is a registered charity, and there are currently six charity trustees. These trustees set and drive the strategic direction of the football club.

We also operate a Coaches Committee to which we invite all of our age group managers and coaches. This is the team who are responsible for the weekly operational arrangements, e.g. planning and running training sessions, arranging fixtures, planning pitch allocations and arranging referees.

Our History

CSA 07 FC was set up in 2007 as part of the Children’s Soccer Academy. The founders were Roger Moon and his partner, Penny Hewitt.

CSA 07 FC started running teams in local leagues across Berkshire and Hampshire, and from small beginnings, the club grew to over 150 players participating in football from under 7s up to the under 16 age group.

Roger and Penny were also keen to draw on their background in Social Care and, probably uniquely for football clubs in the area at the time, worked directly with children excluded from mainstream schools in Pupil Referral Units, Youth Offenders and children with Special Needs, Autism, Asperger's, Hearing and sight impairments, ADHD, etc.

Roger and Penny were also instrumental in re-establishing the Reading and West Berkshire League (RWBL) in 2012.

Roger sadly died in September 2017 and is greatly missed by everyone at CSA 07 FC.

Every year, the club awards a new trophy, the "Roger and Penny Shield", to a player at the club who best reflects the values that Roger and Penny promoted.
